The Corner

In November, 2006 Bill Buckley . . .

put together a classy little booklet, called “First Anniversary Collection.” It was privately published — not for sale, intended for friends, colleagues, etc. The contents: emails, news accounts, congratulatory editorials, invocations, photos, and more on WFB and NR, all prompted by the magazine’s 50th and Bill’s 80th birthday, both of which were the reason for gala events within a month of each other in late 2005. As WFB put it, “This First (and Last) Anniversary Collection” is an assemblage of “fragmentary greetings that were addressed to National Review or to me personally, wishing us well on the two anniversaries we celebrated last year.”

Bill truly enjoyed putting this together, and was very happy with the final product. From August 3rd until the 7th, we’re happy to give you a complimentary copy of this charming booklet (while supplies last — there are only 55 or so to be had) with your purchase of Rick Brookhiser’s acclaimed memoir, Right Time, Right Place: Coming of Age with William F. Buckley Jr. and the Conservative Movement. Order here.

NR Staff comprises members of the National Review editorial and operational teams.
