The late comedian Bill Hicks used to tell a joke where Adam showed Eve round the Garden of Eden, explaining the wonders of paradise to her. After the tour, Eve considered her position and declared, “It’s not enough.”
Our friends in the green movement remind me of Eve in that joke. California has recently passed a law capping greenhouse gas emissions, but the so-called market-based solutions Gov. Schwarzenegger wants to utilize just aren’t good enough for the Democrat-controlled assembly.
Bearing in mind that the Kyoto Protocol would reduce global warming by only 0.07 degrees C at an annual cost to the US of $150 billion, just think about how much would be needed to really satisfy the greens. Or David Cameron.
