The Nyt Mag On Blogging

To be honest I haven’t finished the Klam piece yet. But I doubt I’ll have much to add to David Frum’s dissection today. However, I will note one tidbit of self-promotional info. Klam says that Mickey Kaus was the first political blogger and that he started writing the Kaus Files at Slate. Well, if memory serves, Kaus Files started as a stand-alone and only joined the Slate stable later. Also, the Goldberg File — whether it was a blog or not we’ll leave to the historians — was what gave Mickey the idea to start KF in the first place. At least that’s what he told me.
