Obama: Bloomberg Doing an ‘Extraordinary Job’

The game in which the press ties presidential candidates to the actions and words of their endorsers/endorsees is presumably not as much fun when Barack Obama is involved. But, that notwithstanding, I can’t help but feel that the president might wish he hadn’t said this of Michael Bloomberg’s endorsement:

In a statement, Obama said he was “honored” to have the mayor’s backing.

“I deeply respect him for his leadership in business, philanthropy and government, and appreciate the extraordinary job he’s doing right now, leading New York City through these difficult days,” Obama said in the statement.

You’re doing a heckuva job, Mikey.
