Obama Channels Churchill

President Obama’s call to arms against the oil spill, in the style of Winston Churchill:

“We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in the gulf, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength on television, we shall defend our coastline, whatever the cost to BP may be;

“We shall fight it on the beaches, we shall fight it on the landing grounds, we shall fight it in the marshes and in the sewers, we shall fight it in the sand dunes;

“We shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, the coastline, or a large part of it, were inundated and oily, then our nation beyond the coast line, armed with sponges and sand bags and guarded by FEMA, would carry on the struggle, until in God’s good time, Exxon, with all its power and might, stepped to the rescue and the liberation of BP and my administration.”
