Obama Gives ESPN Three Interviews in As Many Days

Most news networks would kill for this type of access to the president.

Over the span of just a few days, ESPN has landed three interviews with President Obama. After the president filled out his men’s NCAA tournament bracket with Andy Katz on Tuesday and called in to Colin Cowherd’s radio show on Thursday, the sports network released a new video of Obama completing his women’s tournament bracket with Rebecca Lobo.

As he did with his men’s bracket, the president played it relatively safe. He put Connecticut, Notre Dame, Stanford, and Louisville in the Final Four, with the Huskies topping the Fighting Irish in the championship game.

In recent weeks, the president has hit the entertainment interview circuit — including appearances with Zach Galifianakis, Ryan Seacrest, and Ellen DeGeneres — as well as with local news stations as part of an effort to push people to enroll in health insurance before the end of the month. His last national interview came on Super Bowl Sunday when he sat down with Fox News host Bill O’Reilly; a few days earlier, he spoke with CNN’s Jake Tapper.
