Obama, Iran, and Timing

In the U.S. political context, Obama is a master of timing. When it comes to diplomacy, less so. By restating Iran’s right to nuclear power he not only ensured that the United States would negotiate any safeguards from a weakened position, but he also gave Pres. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a huge victory just ten days before the Iranian election.
