Obama May Lift Iran Sanctions Even If Congress Rejects Deal

Congressional approval for the Iran deal? Pssht. Munificent Sun-King Obama has no need for such petty, insignificant rituals. He can enact the deal himself:

Obama has broad powers to act alone — even against the will of Congress — say experts and former administration officials familiar with internal deliberations. Using his executive branch authority, Obama could effectively halt many U.S. sanctions on Iran, they say, in a bid to persuade Tehran to meet its end of the bargain.

I think the White House statement below doesn’t quite line up with the traditional understanding of the enumerated powers of the executive branch in the Constitution:
