Last week in its inauguration preview, Newsweek portrayed President Obama as a Christ-like figure with its “The Second Coming” cover, but the online magazine is not alone in making Biblical comparisons.
At yesterday’s inauguration, LeRoy Battle, a member of the honorable and brave Tuskegee Airmen, reached back into the Old Testament to describe the President. “He’s very special,” Battle said, “God put him here just like he did Moses.” That’s high praise. I wonder if part of Obama’s climate change initiatives will involve making the oceans rise.
Based on the direction he’s taking the U.S. economy though, the closest similarity Obama and Moses have at this point is that it’ll take us 40 long years to get to the Promised Land.
