Obama: Michelle’s a No Vote

President Obama said tonight that his wife Michelle opposes the idea of the U.S. launching another war. When asked whether he thought she’d be in favor of authorizing a war in Syria, “the answer’s no,” the president told NBC’s Savannah Guthrie Monday night.

As to whether he thinks he’ll have enough votes in Congress to authorize strikes in Syria, he replied, “I wouldn’t say I’m confident.”

The president made the statements in the course of round-robin interviews with five major news networks on Monday and ahead of his scheduled address to the nation on Tuesday evening.
