Obama: Nothing Disqualifies Chuck Hagel

President Obama expressed his continued support for Chuck Hagel on Meet the Press this morning. When he was asked if any of the recent revelations regarding Hagel will disqualify him, the president responded, “Not that I see. I served with Chuck Hagel. I know him. He’s a patriot. He’s someone who has done extraordinary work in the United States Senate.” Unfortunately, David Gregory did not take the opportunity to ask the president whether this meant he agreed with Chuck Hagel’s positions on Iran, on drastically cutting the Pentagon’s budget, or his views on the “Jewish Lobby.”
