When asked about the scandals surrounding the IRS during his pre-Super Bowl interview with Fox’s Bill O’Reilly, President Obama blamed the network for perpetuating them. He said that congressional hearings exonerated him and his administration of any blame and claimed that the stories were a non-issue.
“These types of things keep surfacing in part because you and your TV station will promote them,” the president said on Sunday. He attributed the IRS’s targeting of tea-party groups to “boneheaded decisions” and assured O’Reilly that there wasn’t a “smidgeon of corruption” within the agency.
