The Obama Tumult

One thing to keep in mind: No matter how bad Obama looks and sounds this week (prompting all sorts of commentary about his doom), he’s out in front on a genuinely bi-partisan deal that will probably be popular with the public. When has that ever been true during his presidency? My working assumption is that whatever he does to distance himself from the left, short of getting a primary challenger, helps him.
