Obama’s Earmarks for Jesse Jackson

The Chicago Sun-Times has an article detailing the $3.6 million in consituent bribes, er, state grants Obama doled out during the latter half of his tenure as a state senator. It’s an interesting mish-mash of stuff, but one of his largest grants popped out at me:

$200,000 — Citizenship Education Fund/Rainbow PUSH LaSalle Street Project, “venture-capital business for underserved areas” (2000)

Rainbow PUSH is of course Jesse Jackson’s organization. Years ago, I attended a related Rainbow PUSH “venture capital” event in Sillicon Valley and wrote about it for the American Spectator — it’s not online, but all you need to know is that it was a brazen corporate shakedown and the benefits to anyone other than Jackson weren’t readily apparent.
