The Corner

Oh Come Let Us Adore Him?

This sentence actually appears in the Washington Post, in a piece about black pastors meeting with President Obama today (I give you the whole graph for context; bold is mine):

The public show of support and its welcome by the White House is a shift from Obama’s seeming detachment from the question of whether he should have a “black agenda.” In the past, he has responded by saying that “a rising tide lifts all boats” and that his job “is to be president of the whole country.” This time, he is letting the ministers sing his praises.

After reading about Easter Sunday — where the services the Obamas attended had the president as “a focal point” — I’m wondering if there’s an Obama Octave we’re celebrating.
