Ohio GOPers Endorse Cino

National Review Online has learned that Ohio GOP chief Kevin DeWine and committeewoman Jo Anne Davidson have endorsed Maria Cino for chair of the Republican National Committee.

From a statement to be released at 10:00 A.M.:

“I had the privilege of working with Maria in her role as president and CEO of the convention, and I know first-hand the management skill, fundraising ability and organizational expertise she can bring to the job,” said Davidson.  ”She offers the committee an unprecedented record of leadership that would make her an outstanding chair.  Having had the honor of serving as a regional chair for the 2004 presidential campaign and as a past co-chair of the RNC, I know what it takes to build an effective national party apparatus.  Maria is exactly the right person at the right time for this important position.”

DeWine added, “I’m incredibly impressed with Maria’s competence for the job and her vision for the national committee.  She knows what needs to be done to build and sustain a winning organization that can serve as a support structure for every state party, especially those of us in the battlegrounds of a presidential race.  Maria’s record of national fundraising, organizational management and political experience makes her uniquely qualified, and I’m confident in her ability to build an effective party organization that will provide the critical resources we need to win in 2012.”
