Flipping channels a little while ago, I ran across a UHF preacher giving a sensible-sounding sermon, with no outward indication of looniness — until he casually mentioned that Judgment Day is coming, and will arrive on May 21, 2011. A quick Google search of “may 21, 2011 judgment day” turned up 61,400 hits. So I offer this post as a 61,401st hit – a public-service announcement redirecting web-surfers to some more reliable advice: “Ye know neither the day nor the hour” (Mt. 25:13) and “the Kingdom of God cometh not with observation” (Lk. 17:20).
