On CNN I said it was going to be between 290 and 300. I still stand by that. If you’re demanding an exact number, I’ll go with 296.
Though I really don’t think the more bullish mid-300s are that unreasonable. If the numbers trend back toward Bush (or if Mason-Dixon is as reliable as some folks suggest) then you could see Bush hitting 317 quite easily and even higher (since if Bush has the mo to hit that number other states should follow). I think Kerry’s best numbers this week represented a high-water mark and an end-of-week surge that will reverse going into election day.
