It was at this same point — late September — that House R's decided to move on impeaching Clinton in 1998. Timeline from there:
Early Oct: Full House vote to open inquiry
Late Nov/early Dec: Judiciary hearings
Dec 19th: House votes to impeach
Feb 12th '99: Senate acquits— Steve Kornacki (@SteveKornacki) September 24, 2019
And as he notes, this was with the interruption of a midterm election.
