But we’d like to think that the spirit of the season will tug on your heartstrings to help keep this profoundly important institution doing profoundly important athwart-standing.
You know whose heartstrings were tugged?

Thank you for all that you do to keep the light shining.” I married one of those MA conservatives Eddie, so I know of what you speak. Thanks.
Then Mark S, another C-Note giver (thanks!) also sends along an idea: “It would be fun to see one of WFB’s donation letters from years gone by. They were masterpieces of persuasion. I gave money when I was a college kid and had no money to give.” And we took it! That said, it’s a cool idea, Mark — I will comply.
