Only in the New York Times

The New York Times looks at Mark Zuckerberg’s open-borders lobbying group and its efforts to get back in the good graces of the Left. It had raised eyebrows by running ads in Alaska and South Carolina touting Senator Begich’s support for the Keystone pipeline and Lindsey Graham’s opposition to Obamacare in an effort to provide them political cover when voting for amnesty:

Its stated goal was to overhaul immigration law. But its first steps included financing flashy, campaign-style television ads for conservative lawmakers, whose votes were seen as crucial to passing an immigration bill in the Senate. The ads promoted their pet conservative causes, including the Keystone XL pipeline. immediately lost many of its existing and would-be supporters in the valley.

Now the group is trying to turn around its image as it gears up for the fight for immigration overhaul in the House.

But this is how the Times begins its discussion of that turn-around effort:

For now, its ads focus squarely on immigration rather than other more incendiary issues like drilling in Alaska or health insurance regulation.

Only the upper west side’s newspaper of record would consider the Keystone pipeline “more incendiary” than amnesty and doubling legal immigration.
