Another reader recommends a family trip to the new Marines museum:
We spent Thanksgiving in DC – and drove back to NC yesterday. To make it an interesting drive and to try and get off of I-95, we exited on Rte 619/Joplin Rd. right there at Quantico. Not knowing anything other than the roads themselves from our Atlas, we happened upon the Quantico National Cemetery – and took a slow drive through. It was awesome – our 5 year old is just old enough to begin to understand things like death and sacrifice. He actually chilled out a little bit and picked up on our somewhat somber and reverent mood as we drove through.
But had I read the Corner over the weekend – I would have known about the Marine Corps Museum. Doh! Never again.
