This (from a Daily Telegraph report) is too good not to repeat:

“Amid mounting speculation that he would stand down next year, Tony Blair was mocked by David Cameron yesterday as the “David Brent of Downing Street – utterly redundant, just hanging round the office”. Mr Blair was unable to hide his fury as he was likened at Prime Minister’s Questions to the sad, self-obsessed and dysfunctional anti-hero of the BBC television series The Office. In the programme, Brent is eventually sacked for incompetence.”

Sounds like a good precedent to me.
