Someone was just making a very convincing case to me that we should get out of the Green Zone in Baghdad. It’s a symbol of the occupation and enormously inconvenient for Iraqis trying to negotiate the city every day. We could move our embassy to Camp Victory at the airport and build up there to accommodate our needs. It would be a way of symbolically giving Iraqis their city back, and reducing the footprint of our presence.
