Based on exit polls, it appears that Bob Casey, Jr. (can’t bring myself to say Senator-elect) carried overall Catholic vote (32 percent of voters) by 57-42, but Santorum carried evangelical/born again voters (20 percent by a wider margin – 72 percent.  And the most religiously observant voters went Santorum – those who attend church weekly split about evenly.  The 39 percent of voters who think abortion should be either illegal or mostly restricted went Santorum as did those who thought that terrorism is extremely important issue (37 percent) – he carried them jwith 51 percent.  Casey carried those who thought Iraq war is extremely important.  Santorum carried 55 percent of voters who thought that illegal immigration is extremely important issue (33 percent).
