Palin Takes Jab at Christie’s Weight: So ‘Extreme’ ‘It’s Hard Not to Comment on It’

Throughout Chris Christie’s career and since his reelection as New Jersey governor, he’s taken his fair share of jabs over his weight — Time magazine, for instance, featured him on its cover under the headline “the Elephant in the Room.” But former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin thinks this is pretty much understandable.

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, she lamented the media’s obsession with the appearance of female candidates. But when Tapper asked her how she felt about comments on Christie’s appearance, she said, ”That’s because it’s extreme. So it’s hard for some people not to comment on it.”
