This is a political battle that makes Pork Chop Hill look like a church picnic. You don’t need binoculars to see the blazing action on the front lines, where NR writers are completely engaged against hellbent (literally!) enemies not only of SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh, but also of fundamental American principles. The Left will do anything — as in annnnything — and everything, above and beyond what even the fevered brain of Saul Alinksy could conjure, in its power-for-power’s-sake quest.
We are engaged in the Fall 2018 webathon and seeking your generous support. Our goal is to raise over $200,000 to support the exceptional writers who, day in and out, are on the front lines, firing away, without pause, the machine gun so hot it glows red. We need the financial ammo to keep us in this Kavanaugh fight, and ready for the next demented one that the Left and their media BFFs will surely spring upon a beleaguered and weary America. We draw your attention to just two of the terrific essays that National Review has run over the course of these past months of battle. The first is Rich Lowry’s latest column — “Atticus Finch Was on the Wrong Side” — making a mockery of the Left’s abandonment of due-process rights in favor of exalting political accusations. It is so smart, and calling out these hypocrites, in this way, has got to smart.
And then there is Charlie Cooke’s Corner post, “In Defense of Kavanaugh’s Anger.” It’s strong, bracing, and brilliant. Here’s how it ended:
After ten days of listening to this stuff — and watching in horror as the spaghetti was thrown at the wall — I, too, would have been done. Having slowly realized that I would never regain my reputation in full, I would have been livid, devastated, furious — and so, frankly, would anyone else in that position. Sure, if I were guilty I’d probably have crept away to lick my wounds. But if I were not, I’d have put on my spurs and channeled Agincourt. To wonder why a man in Kavanaugh’s position is angry is to betray either a disastrous lack of empathy or a telling lack of humanity. Of course he’s angry. As opposed to what?
They are two of but many dozens of sharp, cutting, influential, spine-stiffening, enemy-bashing essays that NRO has published (for free!) these past months. They have been consequential. They are the product, in some part — and no small part at that — of good and generous souls who know that NR remains vital in this hand-to-hand combat over the destiny of our Republic and our principles.

Keep up the fine work, my dear NR friends. Know that you are loved and admired.” Back at you TK, and double!
- And lastly there is Michael, who drops a kid sawbuck on us and explains why: “I appreciate the stable of writers that you have on board. I read several of them regularly. Yes, I see what you’re up against. The Left does indeed play dirty and they play to win. At any cost.” Mikey dude, you have never been rightier.
