Obviously, he broke his sword on January 6, but if there ever was any occasion to break your sword — that was it. I believe his conduct on that day will be remembered favorably throughout our history. In a better world, doing your constitutional duty in defiance of a pressure campaign from Donald Trump wouldn’t become a political albatross, but we don’t live in that world.
