While I’m scraping together financing, I thought I’d give everyone else a fair shot. A “fully operational” Chieftain MK 6 main battle tank is for sale, complete with 10 “projectiles” for its 120mm main gun. They don’t have a good picture at the site, but here’s a nice Chieftain image from Google. Imagine this in your driveway:
And while I haven’t been able to find any Consumer Reports road tests of the Chieftain, here’s a video outlining its features and even disclosing some latent manufacturing defects:

In the zombie apocalypse, however, I might actually prefer an MRAP. Obviously, the Chieftain could drive straight through a mass of approximately infinity zombies, but it has minimal storage for food and other supplies. In other words, while you’re invulnerable while your food and water lasts, sooner rather than later you’re going to have to go outside. And the 120mm main gun, while powerful, would mainly create piles of writhing zombie parts rather than providing the clean head shots you need. With an MRAP on the other hand, zombies can’t chew through the tires, they can’t chew through the armor, and while you can’t roll over quite as large a pile, you’ve got room for weeks of supplies. The turret at the top is just as nice as the Chieftain’s as a firing platform for your .50 cal or your assault rifle, and the sheer front and sides are tougher for zombies to climb. So, for now, I’m thinking of sticking with something like this:
