Just for the record, Andrew I take your point. I agree that indicting Rove would have been worse. But what I meant to say was that going into this we (meaning the ignorami like myself) thought that there were basically two options: Indict or don’t indict. The conjecture was that it was too late, or at least quite unlikely, he would extend the grand jury. This Third Way is not good news for the White House even if it is better news than a criminal indictment of Rove.
