Perry’s Second-Place Showing Persists

A poll out today confirms the ongoing shift in the GOP field as possible candidate Rick Perry places second, right behind Mitt Romney.

In the Rasmussen poll of likely GOP primary voters released today, Perry has 18 percent support to Romney’s 22 percent. Michele Bachmann is close behind Perry, with 16 percent support. Ron Paul is the only other candidate with double-digit support (10 percent).

Trailing Paul are Herman Cain (9 percent), Newt Gingrich (6 percent), Tim Pawlenty (3 percent), and Jon Huntsman (2 percent).
