I heard this morning that Peter Rodman passed away last night. It’s just awful, awful news at a time when death seems to be in the air. I didn’t know Peter for that long. But I got to know him pretty well in the last year or so. We were debating partners at Oxford. We won, and we had a grand time in the process. Peter was a longtime contributing editor to National Review, a hero of American defense policy and just an incredibly decent, sweet and thoughtful man. My heart goes out to his wife Veronique and the rest of his family.
