Representative Peter King (R., N.Y.) fought an exhibition match with former New York kickboxing champion Josh Foley at a bar in his district this weekend.
King acknowledged before the fight that “Josh is a real fighter. I’m doing it for the sport and hopefully he’s going to hold back on me a bit, but we’re going to go at it for two rounds.” He suggested that his time in Congress could be an advantage, since “you know, it builds up your stress, it builds up the anxiety, it builds up the anger, and I can take it out on Josh Foley. I just hope he doesn’t take it out on me.” The congressman survived the fight unscathed.
