Terrible news in the NR family. Peter Rodman, a former senior editor and constant friend of the magazine, died this morning as a result of complications from leukemia. A conservative realist, Peter served in the foreign-policy apparatus of every Republican administration since Nixon’s. He was also kind and funny, and it breaks my heart to think of his wife Veronique and their children without him. My condolences. R.I.P.
