White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer compared the current budget negotiations with Republicans and its looming deadlines to dealing with suicide bombers, telling CNN that the administration and Democrats on Capitol Hill do not favor “negotiating with people with a bomb strapped to their chests.”
Pfeiffer also characterized the Republicans as arsonists: “It is not a negotiation if I show up at your house and say, ‘Give me everything inside or I’m going to burn it down,’” he said.
