Philly Man Says He Got a Ticket for an Expired Meter Before Getting Out of His Car

A Philadelphia man says an officer gave him a ticket for an expired meter before he even had a chance to get out of his car.

Brian Yan said he had parked his car and was headed to the meter to put quarters in it — only to find that a Philadelphia Parking Authority officer was already writing him a ticket for it being expired.

According to an article published on Philly.com on Monday, the officer then told him that he could not void the ticket because it had already been processed — whether Yan had just gotten out of the car or not.

“I can’t do anything about it,” Alfred Toto said, according to Yan. “You’ll get a hearing.”

The hearing will be Yan’s word against the officer’s ticket.
