So says Howard Dean about Roy Blunt. Here’s a bit from the story in the Kansas City Star:
Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said today that his party relished the thought that Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt might soon become majority leader.
“If you like Tom DeLay, you’re going to love Roy Blunt,” Dean said at a Democratic rally at the Uptown Theater. Blunt, he added, is ethically challenged.
Blunt of southwest Missouri is running to succeed DeLay, the Texas congressman, for the majority leader’s post, the House’s second-highest office. DeLay resigned the position because of money-laundering charges back home.
Blunt is not accused of breaking any House fund-raising rules, and aides and fellow Republican House members have defended him as having strict rules when it comes to dealing with lobbyists and fund-raising.
