Please, No More Videos of Dancing Democrats

With less than 24 hours to go to Election Night, beleaguered Democrats across the country are pulling out all the stops to try to whip up last-minute support for their ailing campaigns. It’s not pretty. The latest — and cringiest — Democratic strategy, ostensibly a “how do you do, fellow kids” effort to appeal to young voters, features really awful (like, avert-your-eyes bad) clips of candidates singing and dancing in TikTok-style clips. I apologize to our readers in advance:

That Beto O’Rourke vid, in particular, is just sort of . . . nauseating. Set aside the unsavoriness of a politician dancing to celebrate the mass murder of unborn children — why is he making come-hither eyes at the camera? In a video with what looks like a college student? While the background music’s lyrics invite an unnamed woman to “come get in my car”? Why didn’t anyone on the O’Rourke campaign have the common sense to say, “I don’t know, boss, this one doesn’t seem like great optics”? Who thought this was a good idea?

Many questions, but no satisfactory answers. Election Night can’t come soon enough.
