Since the protests in Iran started, I’ve wanted to talk with Marina Nemat — and I’ve now done so in a Q&A podcast, here. Readers of National Review are well familiar with her. She is an Iranian ex–political prisoner and human-rights campaigner. She authored a memoir, Prisoner of Tehran.

Marina Nemat speaks with knowledge, eloquence, and passion. She also speaks from experience, and very painful experience at that. Hers is a sober voice, though laced with passion. I listened to her with amazement and great admiration.
