Podesta: ‘What Scandal? A Few E-Mails That We’ve Asked to Make Public?’

John Podesta is the truest of a true believers in Hillary Clinton. The WikiLeaks trove of his e-mails includes a message from March 5, 2015, showing John Podesta’s daughter, Mae, e-mailing her father: “I’m heading back to NY tonight. Any chance you’re staying in nyc b/c of > weather (or scandal?”

The elder Podesta replied, “What scandal? A few e-mails that we’ve asked be made public?”

On March 2, the New York Times reported:

Hillary Rodham Clinton exclusively used a personal email account to conduct government business as secretary of state, State Department officials said, and may have violated federal requirements that officials’ correspondence be retained as part of the agency’s record.

Mrs. Clinton did not have a government email address during her four-year tenure at the State Department. Her aides took no actions to have her personal emails preserved on department servers at the time, as required by the Federal Records Act.

The House Select Committee on Benghazi served Clinton with a subpoena on March 4, 2015, to produce any emails related to its investigation into the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi in 2012.

From the FBI investigation:

In his interviews with the FBI, REDACTED [one of Clinton’s tech people] indicated that sometime between March 25-31, 2015, he realized he did not make the e-mail retention policy changes to Clinton’s clintonemail.com e-mail account that Mills had requested in December 2014. […] He believed he had an “oh s***” moment and sometime between March 25-31, 2015 deleted the Clinton archive mailbox from the PRN server and used BleachBit to delete the exported .PST files he had created on the server system containing Clinton’s e-mails.

What scandal, right?
