In blue New Jersey, Republican governor Chris Christie is set for a massive win tomorrow night.
A Quinnipiac poll out today shows the blunt governor leading his Democrat opponent, Barbara Buono, by a whopping 28 points. Chrisie is backed by 61 percent of voters, while Buono is supported by 33 percent.
Christie’s benefiting from a couple of factors. One, New Jersey Democrats have done little to boost Buono’s candidacy. And secondly, the special senate election — which Cory Booker handily won — has already been held. That decision cost New Jersey taxpayers — the senate election cost the state $24 million — but will probably help Christie’s final margin against Buono, since Booker would have likely increased Democrat turnout.
