Poll: Independents Furious at GOP, Democrats Over Budget Negotiations

Neither party is currently getting a boost among independents for their role in the budget talks and government shutdown, although Republicans are being hurt more.

According to a Washington Post/ABC News poll released today, a whopping 76 percent of independents disapprove of congressional Republicans regarding budget negotiations, while 68 percent and 58 percent disapprove of congressional Democrats and President Obama respectively. 

Republicans are split, with 47 percent of Republicans disapproving of their own party’s actions in Congress, and 49 percent approving.

Among all registered voters, 56 percent disapprove of President Obama’s action during the negotiations, 64 percent disapprove of congressional Democrats, and  74 percent disapprove of congrssional Republicans.
