Poll: Majority Disapprove of President’s Handling of Gun Policy

The latest poll from Quinnipiac University indicates that a majority of Americans disapprove of the president’s handling of gun-control policy by a margin of 52 to 41 percent.

The issue remains in the headlines, with Democrats and the president vowing to force another vote on a bill to expand background checks. The Toomey-Manchin compromise on background checks was narrowly defeated in the Senate last month.

The poll was conducted from April 25 to 29 and surveyed 1,471 registered voters. The margin of error is 2.6 percent.
