Poll: Romney Frontrunner, Perry Second

Mitt Romney continues to be the GOP frontrunner in a new Fox News poll of primary voters.

The rankings: Romney (18 percent), Rick Perry (13 percent),  Michele Bachmann (11 percent), Rudy Giuliani (10 percent), Sarah Palin (8 percent), Ron Paul (7 percent), Herman Cain (5 percent), Tim Pawlenty (3 percent), Newt Gingrich (3 percent), Jon Huntsman (3 percent), Rick Santorum (2 percent), and Gary Johnson (1 percent).

When voters were asked to pick a second choice, most candidates polled within a point or two of their first choice percentages. One notable exception: Bachmann, who shot up six points to 17 percent as a second-choice candidate.

There’s been a few shifts in the percentages since the last Fox poll in early June. Romney went down five percentage points, while Bachmann gained seven points. Rick Perry wasn’t even an option then.
