On its front page today, the Washington Post heralds poll results showing an improvement in President Obama’s standing with the public. But you’d have to dig into the actual poll numbers themselves to discover two interesting facts relevant to the debate beginning on Capitol Hill this week: that public approval of President Obama’s handling of health care (at 43%) and the percentage of people who say they trust him rather than the Republicans on health care (at 42%, 9 points lower than it was a month ago) are both lower in this poll than in any Washington Post/ABC News poll since he became president.
