We’re hearing that a senior House Republican is on a tirade about Blunt holding onto his whip position while also running for majority leader. There’s a possibility he will make an impassioned plea for new leadership elections from the bottom up when the Republican conference meets on Wednesday. If he does and his colleagues find it persuasive, it could mean that the majority leader election planned for the next day, Feb. 2, could be put off as the other races get underway.
