Reading Mickey Kaus’ ongoing dissection of John Edwards’ $400 haircut, it seems obvious to me that someday soon a very prominent hair stylist will give a major candidate a free — or near free — haircut in order to avoid this sort of scandal. But, instead the press will pick up on it and note that the cut-rate shearing amounts to an illegal in-kind contribution.
