Preferences in Trouble

The triumph of the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative and the current Supreme Court case on K-12 assignments by race have put the issue of preferences back on the table nationally. Now Chicago Tribune columnist and long-time defender of “affirmative action,” Clarence Page, puts out a striking piece turning against at least some preferences and endorsing Bill Cosby. This is an important turn of events.
