Premature

When the USA went to war against Germany, veterans of the leftist Abraham Lincoln Brigade, who had fought against Franco (and his German advisers) in the Spanish Civil War five years earlier, and been vilified in the US press for having done so, complained bitterly that they had been “premature anti-fascists.”

Well, I was a premature anti-illegal-immigration-ist.  Here I was venting on the issue six years ago.

It is in the nature of things that you don’t get any points for stuff like this, but I wanted to show it anyway.
