The Corner

Presidential

In talking to people who were underwhelmed by the speech or worried about a thing here or there, I am unconvinced he did it wrong.

I think I would have been worried had he done it any other way. The speech was billed as a speech about his faith and how it would influence his presidency. And he got out there and said he’s darn lucky to live in country where a Mormon can be Mormon and even run for president. It’s a country that respects religion and allows us to worship as we each do. And you watch him and he looks like he means it — like he loves his faith, his family, and this country God has so blessed. And that’s what you want to hear from someone who wants to be president, isn’t it? I certainly do.
